IndieUp Live Revolution- Unsigned/Indie Artists

Ok,
So this is the part where  I let you guys know what some insiders think. I will not name names, but I will tell you this. On several occasions I have reached out to different radio programmers, and studio executives about doing things for unsigned artists, and even sent material to them. ..These are just some of the responses I was given;

The track has energy. The vocal recording need to be polished a bit more. The hook is alright but the verse need to be recorded better. The verse is not focused on the specific topic. The music need to be pulled up to compensate for the lack in the vocals. The vocals are not sitting in the mix properly. It is too high on top of the instrumental. Verse 2 is a whole lot better on the focus topic. It repeats a little too much before the chorus come back in. It needs a bridge and everything need to go up an octave to give it a little better feel. Dang I gave advise without getting paid for it.

Not quite what we are looking for we are looking for something a lil more Good Charlotte.

The project just wont work people don't buy into unsigned, and no name artists like they would a Usher, Lil Wayne, Linkin Park, Kid Rock..

"Cant spin the music, it's not that i'm not feeling it- it's that nobody's is going to dance some thing they don't know, haven't heard. Now give me something people heard, and are familiar with- I'll make'em move".

"Not quite what we are looking for".

"Are you kidding me- who are these guys. If they had a following like Kings of Leon then maybe"!.

"You put a bunch of no names on TV singing well known songs you got a program, put a bunch of nobody's on TV singing original stuff you'll be lookin for a new gig"!!

Myself, I am tired of it! These people forget they are people too. Only that money separates indie artists from major artists. Most Unsigned/Indie started  from obscurity. That obscurity usually gave them their character, or swagger. It bought out the feelings you get  now from hearing  these great songs. In-which are testimonials, and acknowledgements of ones struggles, pain, sufferings, joys, and love.. How can you knock that down? You can't.

This is what we want to do. We want to test the power of the people if will.  With enough donations we will help kick off one Unsigned/Indie Artists career. We want to show these types of people that the unsigned/Indie market is untapped, and deserves to be taken seriously. Major concert events for Indie Artists, endorsement deals, management, etc..

So if your with it. Donate what you can. In July 2012 we will hold something good for some Unsigned/Indie Artists, and help kick start  a career...

Regards,
Indie Up Live
